What we have is a 1984 Southwind RV for sale. Before I get deluged with a bunch of questions I can't answer, I'll say right off the bat that I know absolute zero about RVs and we've only taken it out 4 times or so in this past year we've owned it. Answers to technical questions can be found online, I'm sure. Here's what I DO know, however.

--sleeps 4 adults and up to 2 small children in the cab's pull-down bed (I wouldn't trust the bed to hold over 160-170 lbs. It wasn't made for it)

--Everything you look for in an RV: electrical and water hookups, conventional oven, range, microwave oven, bathroom (with enclosed shower/tub), dining table, cupboards, outside storage, ladder on back for uptop storage, generator, COLD A/C unit, built-in awning, &c. &c.

--new starter

--new drum brakes

--new tile and carpeting in interior

--good tires

--extendable TV antenna on top that runs to TV cabinet with pull-out drawer for TV.

All in all, a fine RV. Why are we getting rid of it and why so cheap, you ask? Well, the co-owners were just graced with their first child, so their RVing and camping days are over for the next 2 years or so. And I (the other co-owner) don't really do much RVing and camping without them, so it's too much vehicle for me. I would rarely make use of it by myself.

So we're tearfully letting it go for a song, mainly because neither of us has the time, RV expertise, or wherewithal to fix up all the little things that need to be fixed in order to get a decent price for it. Here is a list of Things I Know Need to be Fixed:

--starter battery probably needs to be replaced. We started it up and drove it a couple months ago, but now I can't jump it to save my life. The two deep-cycle marine batteries seem to work okay, though.

--windshield wipers don't work. We think it's a shorted wire when the new carpeting was put in. We never bothered to look.

--refrigerator doesn't chill very well and probably needs to be upgraded.

--generator needs cleaned. It worked fine, but got all gummed up one wknd. Knowing nothing about generators, we were going to have a mechanic buddy clean it, but then never took it out again except to tailgate down on campus, where we didn't need it.

--old radio doesn't work.

--various and sundry cosmetic things (e.g. cabinet handles) need to be replaced.
